Programme Mission

Get finance.fit is a programme designed to help combat young persons debt by improving their personal finance knowledge.

Pre-covid 37%* of all UK 16-24 year olds were already in debt, so the get finance.fit mission is to provide free resources, webinars and insights from experts to help young people navigate personal finance and improve their knowledge of topics such as personal income, debt, credit, banking, student finances & savings.

Powered by fumo® & partnered with The Money Charity, we’re driven to provide free resources to every young person in the UK and get them finance fit!.

Webinars

Financial Analyst

Financial Planning

A discussion around saving goals and how to create a saving plan including the importance of doing your research, working out where the money will come from, how long it will take to save etc. Students are encouraged to share some of their goals. This is an important part of the session designed to get them excited about thinking about being better at managing their money, because it is directly related to getting the things that they want.

Activity: Students are asked to create a savings plan for a case study.

Student Finance

Info on other ways you can increase your income or make ends meet eg. scholarships, Disabled Students allowance, interest free overdrafts etc.

Activity: Myth buster - a true or false quiz testing the students on their knowledge around student finance. Even once people are at uni and accessing student finance, there are a lot of common misconceptions about interest paid, how repayment works, whether you need to reapply

each year etc.

The cost of living at uni - budgeting

A run through of and discussion around the typical costs of living for a student eg. rent, bills, travel, personal care, entertainment etc. How different is your spending? Why?
Tips on how to spend less.
